The Orquesta el Macabeo is a salsa band from Puerto Rico formed under the principle of self-management. He began his artistic task in 2008 and today has two albums, Salsa Macabre (2010) and The Burial (2011). Both productions composed and produced by the twelve members of the orchestra, self-taught musicians, veterans of the underground scene in which spent years playing rock, hardcore / punk, ska and reggae among others. Have adapted the sound of the music of yesterday with his style of salsa gorda. "Salsa while undoubtedly classical modern" (Top 25 albums of 2011, zambombaso.com). The Orchestra has won the Maccabee in Puerto Rico at young people and adults; feat that many modern orchestras have failed. This is due to the commonness of their lyrics and sound accessible and "openly" in his music that is both young and adults. The orchestra does not necessarily full public expectations salsa but that it allows you to reach a wider audience and willing to accept diversity within a genre that has been influenced by bands that break the patterns rarely (Orquesta Zodiac, The Corporate America).During the last 2 years this fledgling orchestra has had the opportunity to present the Puerto Rican public both metropolitan San Juan and the rest of the island and has been praised by the public. The irreverence of these 12 musicians make the experience of seeing them live is an unrivaled and unique as each of their presentations has a twist that can only be seen to see them live. The commitment of the orchestra with his music and his audience to keep it real and conscious contact with your project in order to continue improving and reaping gains. Orchestra plans Maccabee are serious, its purpose is to vindicate the sound of salsa "heavy" and is recognized as a serious band and committed to her work.
